Since moving into our new home in April we have been finishing all the rooms and customizing our semi-custom home even more. Currently we are working on the laundry room which we did not upgrade at all. I mean it. We didn't. Look.
I got a new Samsung washing machine and dryer at Best Buy and we ordered cabinets from this great place online but when we looked at stock counters at Lowe's and Home Depot they were just so disappointing and didn't seem like a good fit in this house so instead of spending $1000 on a quartz or granite remnant we decided to go with wood. Since I sell CeCe Caldwell's Chalk + Clay Paint and I blog about creating things it seemed logical! So we went to the cabinet maker who made the gorgeous cabinets for our kitchen...and ordered a wooden countertop for around $400, unfinished, so I could stain and finish it myself with my awesome products. I am using CeCe Caldwell's Beechnut Gray Stain & Finish and plan to seal it with a few coats of Endurance.
So far the project is going quite well...here is a taste...
AFTER ONE COAT:
more to come soon!
I will share the entire laundry room makeover complete with reviews on the Samsung washer and dryer, the sources for the cabinets, countertop, decor, accessories; as well as a step-by-step tutorial for finishing the countertop.
